Running events and selling tickets
Publish one-off or repeating events, take free registrations or sell tickets, and check people in at the door.
Events needs the editor role and a plan that includes events. Your plan's event limit counts only published events that still have a date to come — drafts and past events don't count.
Create an event
- 1Press New event, then Create and edit. It starts as a draft a week from today at 19:00, with one free ticket called General admission.
- 2On Details, add the Title, Summary, description and Cover image, then choose Where: At a venue, Online, or At a venue and online. The Meeting link of an online event is only ever shown to confirmed attendees.
- 3On Schedule, set the Time zone, First date, Starts at and how long it Lasts. Use Repeat for daily, weekly or monthly events, then Save schedule.
- 4On Tickets, set each ticket's Price (0 is free), how many are available Per date, and Most per registration.
- 5Press Publish.
Visitors see your events at /events, as a list or a month calendar, and each event has its own page with an Add to calendar button.
Seats, dates and tickets
- Seats per date caps the whole event; each date can have its own Seats for this date. Seats can't be oversold, even when two people book the last one at the same moment.
- The Dates tab can Add date, Cancel date, or Put back on sale.
- A ticket can be On sale or Hidden, with optional On sale from and On sale until dates. All paid tickets of one event share one currency.
- Event discount codes live under Coupons — see payments.
Registration, reminders and cancelling
Attendees sign in on your site to register, and paid tickets are bought by card, ZarinPal or bank transfer, depending on what you've set up. Their tickets, with a Ticket code to show at the door, are under Events in their account. Everyone confirmed gets a reminder email about a day before.
Attendees can cancel a free registration themselves until Attendees can cancel until (hours before). Paid registrations are cancelled by you, and the refund is made in your payment provider — VPress doesn't refund automatically.
On the day
Each date has an Attendees screen with seats taken and who's checked in. Press Check in as people arrive, Add attendee for someone registering at the door, and Export CSV for a printed list.
