Backing up your website
Download everything as a file whenever you like, have VPress keep copies on a schedule, or have them pushed to your own Google Drive.
If your plan includes it, Backup gives you a full copy of your website whenever you want one, or on a schedule you set — a real download of your own content, not something that only exists inside VPress.
What's in it
A backup is a single file containing every post and page, your site settings, your navigation and any landing page you've built, and every media file's actual bytes — not just a link to where it's stored, since a real backup has to be useful even if VPress itself is ever unreachable.
Downloading one yourself
Press Download backup under Backup at any time to build one on the spot and save it to your computer.
Letting VPress keep them for you
Turn on VPress auto-backup and choose daily or weekly, and a fresh backup is made on that schedule and kept by VPress itself — no Google account or anything else to connect. The most recent ones are listed under Backup, each ready to download; how many are kept depends on your plan, and the oldest is removed as each new one arrives. You can delete any of them yourself, and if your plan later stops including automatic backups, the ones already made stay there for you to download.
Sending them to your own Google Drive
Connect your Google Drive and choose daily or weekly, and a fresh backup is uploaded to a “VPress Backups” folder there on that schedule automatically — nothing to remember. Only the seven most recent are kept there; older ones are cleared out as new ones arrive. VPress only ever touches the files it creates in that one folder, never anything else in your Drive.
